As a physical therapist who is also an advanced yoga teacher and yoga therapist, I bring something unconventional to the table: a broad range of creative therapeutic exercises and a comprehensive approach to your well-being that includes yoga postures and practices. In addition to addressing physical and functional concerns, we will talk about sleep, stress, and nutrition, as these things are integral to overall health.
We will also assess how you breathe. Breathing is unique because it is both conscious and unconscious - you can choose how to breathe. To those unfamiliar with yoga’s emphasis on breathing, it will probably feel a bit strange to concentrate on what happens in your body when you take a breath, but a few small adjustments to this everyday activity will make a world of difference. How we breathe is linked with our posture, and it affects our nervous system, our mood, and even our experience of pain. By learning some simple breathing techniques, you can teach your body to work on your behalf, even when you aren’t thinking about it, leading to improved physical function and decreased stress that you will carry beyond the time you spend in physical therapy.
The people I work with are curious and motivated - they are interested in understanding themselves a little better, and they want to take charge of their own health. Clients who work with me are eager to graduate, and I am dedicated to helping them get there.
This means you’ll have some work to do, and I will be with you while you need me. I believe in living from the inside out, in treating the body like a garden; rather than simply pulling weeds, we tend to the soil.
I look forward to connecting with you soon.
To inspire and empower people to live confidently - from the inside out - with strength, balance, flexibility, and an enduring sense of possibility.
