According to Aristotle, eudaimonia is the best of what life can be. It's often translated as happiness, but it's something more. Literally "good spirit" - it's human flourishing, a life well-lived. In this workshop, we'll cover building blocks of a life lived from the inside out. We'll start with something tangible - breathing. You have direct access to your nervous system (and so much more) through your breath. We'll look at the fight and flight and the rest parts of the nervous system. All the while, the focus is on how this matters in everyday life. We'll also look at more abstract concepts including the inner critic, fear, and the process of connecting with inner wisdom and intuition.
It's about more than slowing down here and there. It's about creating a baseline that is sustainable.
anatomy & mechanics of healthy breathing
sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
vagus nerve and polyvagal theory
The workshop includes a yoga nidra practice. Please bring your yoga mat and any props that you'd like to use (pillow, blanket(s), eye mask).
Bring openness and curiosity. Leave with skills to serve you regardless of what life brings.
