Posture and the way we breathe are closely linked. Making sense of these two reciprocal functions, and how they impact your health and vitality, begins with awareness of your own breath. With the Catalyst series, you get your own customized, guided tour, where we investigate the relationship between breath and postural alignment from the inside out.
This personalized program includes three one-on-one sessions that focus on first locating the breath within your own body and understanding its relationship to your individual areas of interest or concern. Each session builds off of the one before, working from the inside out, tightly weaving your personal goals and priorities into the fabric of learning content. After a thorough exploration of how posture and breath function within the body—and exactly what that means to you—we will spend the third and final session developing a personalized implementation plan with concrete steps for putting what you’ve learned into action.
Session 1: Inspire
Share and understand your goals for the sessions
Discover the anatomy & function of a normal breath by studying the teamwork of the diaphragm, pelvic floor, and transversus abdominis & more
Closely evaluate your own posture and breath
Investigate the importance of alignment in relation to breathing
Look at the ways that breath can influence mood, pain, heart rate, GI function, etc., and what its specific impact is for you/your health
Session 2: Empower
Integrate session 1 content into yoga postures and provide adjustments and feedback to optimize alignment
Develop variations that accommodate individual concerns or limitations and addresses questions or areas of interest
Develop your own breathing and movement strategy to provide dynamic stability and improved performance
Identify philosophical anchors for ongoing inspiration, orientation, and wellness support
Session 3: Connect
Review and discuss questions from sessions 1 & 2
Explore contemplative practices that tap into inner wisdom and intuition
Utilize tools from meditation, yoga nidra, mindfulness
Develop space to hear your own voice, to live from the inside out in place of in reaction to the outside world
Set goals with intention
Refine support infrastructure to make lasting positive change a reality, including the importance of an inner circle
